- The board cards- are those cards that can be found in the middle of the table. These cards are shared by all the players. You can meet this term both at a regular poker table and at tournament poker.
- Flop- these are basically the first 3 cards in a Texas Hold’em poker game.
- Longhand poker- a game of poker where there are involved 7 or more players.
- Shorthand poker- the game where the number of players is limited to 6, 5 or even less players
- Position- is actually the position you sit at the table. The best position at the table is that of the dealer (because he actually bets last), while the worst position is that of the small blind (sits to the left of the dealer), because he has to make the first bet.
- River- this is the final card (5th) that comes out at a game of Texas Hold’em poker.
- Turn- when you play poker, “turn” is used to denote the card that comes after the flop (the 4th board card basically).
